One network, as many Google profiles
Each address has its own Google profile, its own reviews and its own rating. For your customers, what counts is the location round the corner; for you, it's the image of the whole.
And customers read closely. In BrightLocal's 2026 survey, the first factor they say they look at is whether a review is backed up by others with similar sentiment (56%); an owner's reply matters to 37% of them1.
The three pitfalls of a network
Some locations reply, others stay silent
A location that never replies stands out: 42% of consumers say they are unlikely to use a business that never responds to its reviews1.
The same reply everywhere
Head office writes a template, each location pastes it: that's the generic reply, which puts off one consumer in two1. And from one profile to the next, the copy-paste shows.
Targets that encourage cheating
"Twenty reviews per month per shop": this kind of target is ruled out by Google, which gives as examples merchants asking staff to solicit a certain number of reviews, or reviews that mention a team member2. And a bonus based on the number of reviews pushes staff to ask only satisfied customers, which Google also prohibits2.
Organising replies: who does what
- A shared charter: the tone, the signature, topics never to discuss in public, commitments never to make.
- A local voice: the reply picks up what happened at that particular location, and can be signed by its manager. Google advises adding a name or initials3.
- A procedure for critical reviews: who reviews, who calls the customer back, and within what time frame.
- Tracking by location: average rating, number of reviews, reviews left unanswered. Gaps between locations often show where to look.
Separate access
Each manager doesn't need to see the whole network. Give each one access to their own locations, with editing or read-only rights, and keep control of the shared settings.
To write the charter, our six signs of an automatic reply make a good list of what to rule out.
What ReplyTop does for networks
The Pro plan manages up to 3 locations, the Business plan up to 10; beyond that, get in touch. Each location has its own settings: instructions, signature, approval of critical reviews. On Business, you invite colleagues as editors or viewers, location by location, and the dashboard tracks your average rating, how your reviews evolve and your customers' sentiment.
